Two days back a news portal had posted news claiming that Batamaloo MLA
had to flee from a marriage ceremony in his constituency after other invitees and locals objected to his presence and raised slogans in Zainakote area.
Though the news portal later on took down the news report after alleged objections raised by the legislator, however, it was shared extensively on social networking sites including facebook and WhatsApp.
In his two separate letters to District Magistrate Srinagar and Director, Information Public Relations, the Batamaloo legislator, Sheikh Noor Muhammad has claimed that this news report was totally baseless and fake aimed at to malign his image. “Even I was not informed about the news neither they (news portal) tried to find the truth. I request to your good-selt to take strong action against the news portal and FIR may be registered against it for spreading rumours that has affected my credibility.”
